Activities for Families

UUCSR offers many different ways for families to connect. If you are a parent of a child in the congregation, please request to be added to our UUCSR Parents Facebook page to keep up with announcements and discussion.

Parents’ Night Out

Join UUCSR Parents for dinner together at a downtown Santa Rosa restaurant of their choosing. Children will stay at UUCSR and enjoy pizza, games, and arts & crafts with Jen Freese and two other childcare workers. Suggested donations of $5 per child are appreciated to help cover the cost of pizza and childcare.

Parents’ Night IN

Join families for a potluck at UUCSR with the added bonus of childcare after dinner! Kids will be happily engaged with games and arts & crafts while you have a chance to chat with adults. This is a great opportunity to get to know other parents in the UUCSR community, particularly if your children aren’t ready to be separate from you for our regular Parents’ Night Out.

Family BBQ and Chalk Festival

Welcome the new school year with fellow UU families at our annual Family BBQ. We provide the hotdogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers and you provide the sides. This year our activity during the BBQ will be a chalk festival in the courtyard. Stay tuned for details! Upcoming date: August 25

The Art of UU Parenting

One of our most popular offerings for families at UUCSR, The Art of UU Parenting takes place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, covering a multitude of parenting topics and providing a truly bonding experience for all involved. A healthy, homemade dinner is provided before each session from 5:30-6:00 pm for a small fee to cover food costs. Childcare is provided and babes in arms are welcome in the parenting group. Upcoming date: September 11

New! Worship for All Ages

Beginning in September, we will gather for intergenerational worship on the third Tuesday of every month, followed by breaking of bread together with a potluck. Worship will begin at 5:30 pm and involves music, movement, developmentally appropriate readings and time for prayer. This is meant to be a time for all ages to come together and experience worship in a way that may look and feel different, but allows even our littlest ones to experience the beauty and awe of spiritual practice. Upcoming date: September 18
