Financial Commitment

Thoughtful and inspiring Sunday worship with music, beautiful and diverse. High quality religious education for children and adults. An inviting sacred space. A welcoming community based on shared values. This is some of the depth of what UUCSR offers to all who come here.

An important part of being a member or friend of our congregation is making an annual financial commitment, called a pledge, to support and sustain our ministry and to support our mission and vision. Financial commitments have traditionally been renewed each year in the Spring.  However, we have embarked on a Sustaining Pledge system and ask that each person make an annual pledge which will be ongoing year after year.  When changes occur in your personal finances, you are invited to also change the amount of your pledge.  We will ask members and friends to consider increasing their pledges periodically as new opportunities or needs arise.

How will my annual commitment be used?
To ensure a vibrant and sustainable spiritual community that continues to offer the gifts our members and pledging friends value. Your annual commitment also helps to further the values of our liberal tradition, such as serving people in need and working toward global peace and a healthy planet.

Specifically, pledges from members and friends finance over 80% of our budget.  Your financial commitment allows us to maintain and grow our ministry to both adults and children.

How much should my annual commitment be?

Each member of UUCSR is required to make a significant annual financial commitment.  What each of us considers significant is different and each member and friend must decide that amount themselves.   While there is no required minimum commitment, we ask that each person strive toward an annual pledge equal to 5 -10% of their annual gross income.  Each person is asked to make a financial commitment that is as generous as personal circumstances allow.
