Middle School Youth Group (Grades 6-8)

UUCSR Middle School Youth Group

UUCSR’s Middle School Youth Group (aka “MUUGs”) meets on Sundays from 11:00-12:15 pm, and then wraps up each week by sharing pizza with the High School Youth Group from 12:15-12:30 pm.

MUUGs will begin meeting this year on Sunday, September 22, 2019 and will continue until June of 2020.

MUUGs offers a combination of spiritual exploration, deep fun, lighthearted conversation and bonding for youth in grades 6-8. Using the Soul Matters theme-based ministry packets, we look at Unitarian Universalism through the lens of each month’s spiritual theme.

Pacific Central District MUUGs Retreats

MUUGs is also the acronym for Middle School Unitarian Universalist Gatherings, a program which serves youth in 6th-9th grade. It is a program of the Pacific Central District of the Unitarian Universalist Association (PCD-UUA), which is a Association of multiple congregations in Northern California, Northern Nevada and Hawaii. As such, MUUGs brings together youth from many different congregations in the district for weekend events to building a safe and affirming community and deepen Unitarian Universalist values.

MUUGs exists to serve youth by building intentional and supportive communities. It does this by putting on 4 weekend long retreats a year, along with a week long camp in the summer. These retreats have many different components designed for spiritual exploration, social justice awareness, peer bonding, building youth leadership skills and lots of fun.  For more information go to the PCD MUUGS website at http://www.pcdmuugs.org/ or speak to Jen Freese, DRE
