“Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world,” said Shelley. In strange and dark times, the calling of poetry to speak truth and celebrate the universal in the particular is needed more than ever. This service celebrates the radical power of poetry by focusing on Native American poet (and feminist saxophonist) Joy Harjo, and the English poet (and Jesuit priest) Gerard Manley Hopkins.
